Workshop - Processing Lifeforms

Workshop - Processing Lifeforms

In this workshop the participants are going to be able to understand and write programming source code. The language of Processing will be used as a way to create and prototype different ideas from an artistic perspective. Using Processing as a IDE-plattform we are going to create artificial life forms.

As interaction method we will use computer vision through Processing. The workshop will present different ways to use webcams and security cams as a way to implement interaction with digital environments.

The attendants will have the opportunity to work in the production of small projects and explore computervision in different ways. The workshop is based on Free/Open Source Software. All the material used during the workshop will be available on-line under an open content license.

Processing will be used to illustrate most of the different techniques, but the emphasis will be put on introducing and explaining the generative processes so the participant can understand them and will be able to implement these techniques in his/her future work.

No previous knowledge of programming is required, but knowing how to use computers is mandatory!
